Artist Statement:
 I have always been fascinated by the forms, patterns, textures and colors found in the natural world.  Over the years I have used my art as a way to explore the myriad of strange and beautiful nuances that exist in nature.  Discovering the grace of a seedling, the unearthly patterns of lichens, the texture of bark or the uncanny caw of a crow has always inspired me to capture these details on paper.

My work is also informed by the concepts of collecting, dreams, place, stories, memory, science and language.  The majority of my work consists of mixed-media drawings on high-quality papers.   I like to add bits of stories to my work in order to push it past the literal to a place that evokes the emotion that shifts just beneath the surface of our thoughts.  Often I strive towards  the haunting and sometimes whimsical imagery of nature, dreams and decay.
